PURCHASING TIPS

One should be very cautious while buying a product.

It is mandatory for a manufacturer to print the price on a product packing. Always pay as per the price mentioned. Insist for a bill especially if the product is of high value.

Always get the warranty/guarantee card signed and stamped by the dealer for the product you have purchased. Ensure all details like date and cash-memo number are filled clearly on the warranty card.

Keep these documents safely as you may require them anytime.

Keep a cutting of all the advertisements that attracted you to buy the product. Many times the manufacturer is not able to fulfill the promises mentioned in the advertisement.

Report the deficiency or fault to the head of the shop in writing and take the acknowledgement of the receipt of this letter if hand delivered. You can also send the same by registered AD post or through courier.

Never report the fault or deficiency by telephone or verbally.

Send one more reminder after sufficient time has passed, or if the opposite party has not initiated any action. In this letter mention that you will approach the consumer court for compensation if your matter is not settled within the time duration as decided by you.
